Lead Teacher in After School Care at Brokind and Sätra Schools
Are you an engaged educator who wants to lead the development of future after-school care in an inspiring and nature-oriented environment? We are now looking for a lead teacher who wants to be part of our competent team at Brokind and Sätra Schools, where safety and each student's potential are at the center.
Your Responsibilities
As a teacher in after-school care, you are responsible for teaching by contributing to the realization of the curriculum's goals and intentions. You plan, implement, and document the educational work.
The role of lead teacher involves driving the development of teaching. Our after-school programs have a strong tradition of development work and have recently participated in the research project FRIBIS, which has provided us with a scientific basis. Although the project is now completed, the drive and quality-focused thinking remain. As a lead teacher, you will play a key role in managing and further developing this focus.
Your Role Includes:
- Mentoring and supporting colleagues to ensure high and equitable quality.
- Being a mentor for future teachers in after-school care during their training.
- Leading processes for collegial learning and staying updated on current research.
Mornings will include tasks tailored to your specific competencies and the needs of the organization, creating a varied and developing workday. Time for the lead teacher assignment will be allocated in dialogue with the principal (at least 10%).
Your Workplace
Brokind and Sätra Schools are characterized by learning, safety, community, and engagement. Here, competent educators work with a common ambition: to create meaningful learning where every student reaches their full potential. Our two schools are led by a joint management team that promotes close exchange regarding students' learning and an effective distribution of our competent staff.
Our goal is to offer an equitable and enjoyable education with maximum learning in focus. As an employee with us, you will be part of an engaged team that together develops the organization towards our common goals: higher goal fulfillment through safety, increased motivation, and a strong focus on basic skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic.
Brokind School is beautifully located on a hill in the community and operates in modern, newly built facilities adapted to today's curriculum. Approximately 125 students from preschool to grade 6 attend here, distributed in age-homogeneous classes. The school also houses a preschool, a focus library, and a full-sized sports hall. The operation is characterized by close collaboration between school and after-school care, where we have found methods that complement each other and contribute to high goal fulfillment. Six educators work in two departments in after-school care: one for grades F–3 and 'After School' for grades 4–6. We have a unique collaboration with Brokinds IF to create an active leisure time with everything from forest activities and movement in Brokindshallen to leisure crafts based on students' wishes.
Sätra School in Bestorp is the small school with a large community. About 88 students from preschool to grade 6 attend here in a calm and safe environment. The school is located in a scenic area with its own school forest, wind shelter, and barbecue area, making outdoor education and outdoor life a natural part of students' daily lives. At Sätra School, we highly value student influence, especially within after-school care where students are co-creators in the activities. With only a 5–10 minute walk from Bestorp center, the school is easily accessible via safe bike paths.
Welcome to Brokind and Sätra Schools – where we together make a difference for every student!
